Martin Ibert

Summary

Martin Ibert

I am a seasoned pre-sales professional with about twenty years of experience of selling, and helping to sell, enterprise software to large companies and organizations, both domestic and international. I have worked with software all my academic and professional career, starting in 1985.

I have an extensive IT background, and I hold a degree in computer science from Technische Universität Berlin. I have done coding in a wide variety of languages, and know my way around network protocols and standards as well. I enjoy, and excel in, acquiring technology knowledge. I pick up new things easily and can quickly put them to use and train others in them.

However, I firmly believe that pre-sales is not just about demonstrating the product and the technology behind it. Equally important is to make the solution on offer relevant to the prospect by relating it to their business requirements and showing them how it will solve their problems and deliver actual, measurable benefits.

In short, what I really like about enterprise pre-sales is the combination of working with technology and working with people. I am a good presenter (in fact, I earned my living as a UNIX trainer for a few years), and I especially enjoy delivering well-prepared, value-oriented custom demonstrations.

My native language is German; I am business fluent in English and can generally make myself understood in Spanish. I live in Berlin, Germany.
